Developed in the early 2000s by Heckler & Koch, the HK416 was created at the request of U.S. Delta Force to cure the reliability issues of the M4 carbine. It replaces the traditional direct impingement system with a cooler, cleaner short-stroke gas piston, revolutionizing modern infantry warfare.

Manufactured by Umarex and licensed by HK, the HK416-D in .22 LR is designed as an inexpensive training and recreational plinking platform.
