FIRST MODEL HENRY REPEATING RIFLE

Description:
24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 RF caliber. Bore has shine with some light roughness throughout the six groove rifling. Sights include a German silver blade front with a low flattop sporting rear. Barrel is a brown patina with a sling swivel attachment. The brass receiver has a very pleasing untouched patina. There is a brass filler in the dovetail on top of the receiver. The cartridge follower is a different color so most likely replaced. Hammer, lever and trigger are a brown patina as well. Walnut stock is in good condition showing only normal wear and handling with a small loss of wood by the lower tang. Stock also has a sling swivel attachment.  Beautiful brass patina on the buttplate. There is no hickory cleaning rod present in the trapdoor. Smooth functioning action. Just a good looking Henry rifle from July of 1863.
