NICE ANTIQUE HENRY REPEATING RIFLE
Description: 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 RF caliber. Bore has good shine and six groove rifling. Original sights include the later style front blade with the high square back which was common after 1,200 serial range and a rear with a sliding bar and the number “900” stamped at the top of the folding leaf. Correct early barrel address with the smaller-size lettering. Barrel and magazine tube are a plum/brown patina with traces of blue in the protected areas. Brass receiver has a nice attractive unpolished butterscotch patina. Has the small center-punch (Dot) factory inspection marking located behind the lower rear receiver tang screw. Hammer and lever are a brown color with hints of case colors present. Nice functioning action. American walnut stock is in good condition with just some light handling mars and an added coat of finish. Also has the early style rounded heel brass buttplate. No hickory cleaning rod present. There are no sling swivels on the rifle and no visible Henry “Bump”. A very nice looking example of an honest Henry rifle that was made in March of 1863.
