DELUXE ENGRAVED HENRY RIFLE

Description:
24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 RF caliber. Bore is good with frosted six groove rifling. Sights include the early half moon style front blade which could be a replacement and a 900 yard rear sight with no slide stop screw. Later barrel address with the larger-size lettering. Barrel and magazine tube retain most all of the the blue with the balance a smooth plum/blue patina. Brass receiver has been silver plated and retains about 90% of that restored plating. Engraved by Samuel Hoggson with fine scrollwork and wavy line borders with a scene of a dog pursuing a stag on the left side plate. Hammer and lever are a brown color with hints of case colors present. Nice functioning action. Fine fiery figured burl walnut stock has been lightly freshened and is in very good condition. Also has the early style rounded heel brass buttplate that is also silver plated and engraved. No hickory cleaning rod present. There are no sling swivels on the rifle and no visible Henry “Bump”. This is a very fine looking example of a deluxe engraved Henry rifle that was made in December of 1863.
