Description: Heym Express .416 Rigby Magnum. Built in Germany during 1991 and imported by Heckler & Koch, serial 10230 has a 24-inch barrel (.730-inch muzzle diameter, ramp front sight with stippled approach, brass bead and button-release knurled hood, banded sling swivel stud, island rear sight assembly with one fixed and two folding express leafs marked 50/100/150). The double square bridge magnum Mauser action has a full-length claw extractor for controlled round feeding and extraction, jeweled bolt body, straight bolt handle (tucked tight, extra long for positive contact, large knob), three-position safety (positive detent capture on "safe" position, checkered top and serrated sides), blended bolt release, drop box magazine with inside-the-bow release and a Timney trigger. Metal finish is a satin rust blue. STOCK: Crafted from AA-grade European walnut with proper grain structure for strength, appointments include a rosewood forend tip, 24 lines-per-inch bordered wrap checkering, double crossbolts, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, trap door grip cap, sling swivel stud (toe line) and Universal recoil pad. The stock has full-length bedding and the forward guard screw rests on a steel post. Screws are timed. Finish is hand-rubbed oil. CAPACITY: Six rounds (5+1). The extractor face effortlessly "snaps over" single fed rounds. Feeding/extraction/ejection are comforting - smooth and positive. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 10.0 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.1 inches. CONDITION: The bore is superb, strong and bright. Mechanics are flawless. Metal finish is over 90 percent with blotchy areas (likely from carry/handling with sunscreened hands). Wood is at least 95 percent with but trace indications of being afield.
