Full sidelocks with cocking indicators, full Bouquet scroll engraving, desired long top tang, crisp double triggers, deep color case hardened receiver showing crisply defined engraving and lettering. Very nicely figured French Walnut stock with Holland style shadow line cheekpiece, hard semi-gloss oil finish, crisp checkering and LOP of 15in over leather covered solid rubber recoil pad.Barrels are 26 1/8in with preferred extractors, solid flat rib with one standing and two folding leaf sights, long bead front sight, very high condition bluing and crisp, bright bores.Barrel shows light handling marks and a slight rust-thinned blue ill-defined 1in band across the top of the barrels, probably from long-term upright rack storage. This rifle locks up tight, on the face. Splinter forend show same finish, crisp checkering , engraving, and deep case hardened color. Caliber is .450EX virtually identical to .450-125 Sharps ( same 45-70 bullet) with ballistics similar to .458WinMag. Current mfr ammo and reloading components are easily obtained. ( two boxes current Kynoch mfr ammo included, to ship separately.)This rifle was reconditioned by Turnbull in 2006 including new springs, pins and hammers.It is unfired since.
