Holland and Holland rook rifle, top lever break open .38 Special caliber. Rifle is in perfect mechanical condition and has an excellent bore. The stock is sound with good figure and color and a cheekpiece. It has an automatic safety with "SAFE" marked in gold and is an ejector. The highly detailed engraving is exquisite. It is a very slender rifle, weighing 5lb. 3oz., but has adult length of pull of 14.5 inches. It features a 26 inch octagon barrel. The top flat is matted. There is a small bead foresight and a three leaf rear sight, one standing and two folding with metal centerline, my guess is platinum. It produces 25 yard 5 shot groups of one inch with Hornady lead bullets, and the sights regulate to the load. An initial oval is present on the bottom edge of the buttstock and the metal grip cap is engraved. Original caliber was .295 Semi-smooth. This is a great shooting rifle that can be a collectible, but will also serve well for pests and small game. Shipping charge will be actual cost.
