H&A Fowler 20ga center hammer percussion

Description:

With about .62 cal,ot 20ga. with a  24 3/4" round barrel with a lightly oxidized smoothbore. The barrel retains perhaps 60% thinning blue showing dings and handling marks throughout with areas toning to mottled brown. The receiver has toned to similar brown showing moderate tool marks throughout with several screws and the nipple being later replacements. The smooth walnut stocks rate good plus with dings and handling marks throughout, mostly on the butt which shows pinholes at the wrist and poor fit, shy at the buttplate.. There is a brass bead in an uneven dovetail on the front, the gun is devoid of any markings, and action works well but stiff when the hammer pulled back hard ro nold. Sometimes doesn't hold. but may need cleaning interior About 6" down the muzzle circle of pits. Made about 1875.
