Custom Built Husqvarna 243 Winchester Caliber Winslow Arms
Description:
The following information is provided from an appriasal I received for this rifle:
This rifle is a custom built 243 Winchester caliber. It was built by Winslow Arms of Venice, Florida in early 1970's. This rifle was built on a Husqvarna barreled action, serial number 22664A. The European walnut stock has all the characteristics of a Winslow rifle. It has the exaggerated curved pistol grip, the tapered beaver-tail for-end and deep cut oak leaf carvings instead of checkering on its grip and for-end. The for-end tip and grip cap are ebony. The rifle is in mint condition, retaining 100% blue and wood finishes. The oak leaf carving is very deep cut and gives the rifle a Germanic look. The carving was done by one of two master carvers who worked for Winslow, either Nils O. Hultgren or Art D. Knoll. I could not find a signature or carvers stamp on the exterior of the rifle. Both men worked for Winslow into the 1980's.
As far as how did I gain possession of this rifle? It was given to me by my father before he passed away in 2020. My father was a pastor in Texas and was given this rifle by a man in his church who was a West Texas oilman many years ago.
