For sale is an Interarms Mark X bolt-action rifle, chambered in the flat-shooting .243 Winchester cartridge. This rifle is in great used condition and represents a classic commercial Mauser 98 action – built by Zastava in what is now Serbia, identical to the FN Model 98 from Belgium. The Mark X has been marketed under an array of names over the years: Whitworth, Interarms, Charles Daly, and most recently, Remington.
This rifle features a glossy finished European walnut Monte Carlo stock with hand-checkered pistol grip and forearm, and a blued barrel. The receiver is forged and machined from high carbon, manganese alloy steel. The barrel is hammer-forged from chrome vanadium steel, ensuring prolonged life and consistent accuracy. The rifle has a 24-inch barrel with an overall length of 44 inches. It features an "Oberndorf" commercial hinged floor plate for quick and safe unloading. The original sights have been removed, and a Redfield 3-9x Long Range scope is installed. The lenses could use cleaning, but the scope is fully functional.
Condition Notes: There are plenty of handling marks, but no damage to the blued finish of the barrel or the glossy European walnut Monte Carlo stock. The rifle is fully functional and chambered in a conventionally available cartridge. No box, no original sights, no other accessories.
