Johnson Model 1941 Semi-Auto Rifle
Description: Serial #A0470, .30-06, 22" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that retains 75-80% of the original parkerized finish that has silvered at the muzzle, and along the projecting edges. Wear can be seen on the bearing surfaces of the receiver around the ejection port, and there is mottled freckling on the left side of the receiver and rotary magazine housing. The right side of the receiver has the small Dutch colonial five-pointed star acceptance stamp above the triangular Cranston Arms Co. logo. There is further freckling and gray fading present on the ventilated handguard, as well as a dark plum-brown patina on the top and rear portions. The walnut forend and buttstock are in good condition with numerous minor handling marks, as well as several long scratches in the wood at the butt. A period M1907 style leather sling, heavily flaked, but still intact and serviceable, is installed. The rifle is mechanically excellent, and this is a very nice example of a desirable 1941 Johnson that rates very good plus overall.
