Antique C. SIEBERT Half Stock BACK ACTION Percussion .42 Caliber Long Rifle HEAVY BARRELED Long Rifle Made Circa 1854!
Description: Antique C. SIEBERT Half Stock BACK ACTION Percussion .42 Caliber Long Rifle HEAVY BARRELED Long Rifle Made Circa 1854! Here we present an Antique C. Siebert Long Rifle, made circa 1854 in Columbus, Ohio. Christian Siebert was born in Buckingheim, Germany in 1822 and after immigrating to Ohio, he apprenticed under John Griffiths of Cincinnati in 1838. He ran his own shop in Columbus between the years of 1852 and 1856. This rifle features a stout octagonal barrel in .42 caliber, large enough to take medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. “C. SIEBER COULMBUS O.” is stamped atop the barrel and on the lock. Rifle manufacture in the mid-to-late 19th Century was rapidly changing over from thousands of craftsmen all over the United States and on the Frontier making and selling their wares, to the large factories with standardized assembly lines and modern manufacturing techniques. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape and remains clear (aged). The stock has a repaired and stable split on the left side opposite the lock. There is also a bit of loss along the top of the forearm just forward of that. Little bit of rattle in the barrel wedge. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 30-1/4 inches. Caliber: .42 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1675 #215298 SOLD Antique: Yes |
