One of the most ornate Henry Leman rifles with 30 engraved German silver inlays and beautiful tiger maple stock. 53” o/a with 38” octagon deeply rifled .36 caliber barrel. Engraved lock signed “LEMAN/LANSTR, PA.”. Brass patch box with “ACORN” engraved finial. Beautifully engraved inlays with all present and original. German silver ramrod pipes. Double set triggers and very nice flat bottom brass trigger guard. Excellent all original condition with no cleaning or restoration. Real attic excellent condition. Nipple and spring missing but easy repairs. Excellent bore. For two examples of similar quality Leman rifles see Wood & Whisker’s “ARMS MAKERS OF LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA” pages 130 & 131. Although Henry Leman was one of the most prolific of Lancaster makers examples of his inlaid ornate rifles are very scarce as much of his production were plain trade rifles and utilitarian quality rifles made for settlers going West.
