About Us: I have sold and shipped many antique long rifles and various antique pistols successfully over the years. My descriptions are accurate and I include detailed photos. Feel free to ask for additional information. Finally, please see my positive feedback on ebay and elsewhere under the same username. Please keep in mind that since this is antique, you do NOT need an FFL for me to ship it to you.
Kentucky Rifle Attributed to Wolfgang Haga
Description: This is a spectacular Reading rifle in the black. You could call it "attic condition" or a "barn find" because it literally came out of a farm in Amish country, Indiana, about ten years ago. It is untouched, except for gluing a small crack in the forestock near the muzzle to prevent any damage or loss. In my opinion, it has the best style relief carving on these guns attributed to Wolfgang Haga. Elegantly relief carved behind and in front of the cheekpiece and behind and around the tang, also. Silver star cheekpiece inlay, thick beveled sideplate, wide triggerguard, forestock moulding. Flintlock converted to percussion, of course. Barrel is 41 5/8" long with a big smoothbore. Wonderful patchbox with a toeplate finial to match! Thin, but long sliver of wood missing at top of forestock near muzzle. Patchbox lid is stuck closed and I've just left it alone. Shipping and insurance to you is included (lower 48). However, you'll have to return my aluminum hard case at your expense. PLEASE NOTE: I do not recommend firing the antique guns that I sell. If you decide to do so, you do it at your own risk! This includes working the actions (locks, hammers, triggers, etc.) Old guns (pre-1899) have old parts, including old springs and other internals (we are talking about 150+ years old, on average!). These parts can and do break. You are not buying a new gun; this is an antique/collectible and it is catagorized as such for that reason. SOLD Antique: Yes |
