Leman Kentucky or Plains Rifle
Description: On Hold Sale Pending Leman Kentucky/plains rifle made circa 1850 in Belmont, Ohio. The functioning lock is marked Leman, Landcaste and functions with double set triggers. The 37 inch 40 caliber octagon to round barrel is approximately 1 1/8th inches at the muzzle and marked J S Fowler on the flat. The stock is good but dark almost black in places. There is a brass piece apparently to protect the wood near the nipple when firing. The but plate, and trigger guard are brass with a dark brown/black patina. The barrel has both front and rear sights. The nose cap I think is German silver. The barrel and lock have a dark brown patina with some pitting on the lock, hammer and near the nipple/breach area. The ramrod and ramrod holder is missing. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Shipping will be actuall cost by insured usps priority mail with tracking. On Hold Sale Pending SOLD Antique: Yes |
