OHIO Antique WESLEY RADER Half-Stock 38 Cal Percussion American LONG RIFLE
1850s/1860s Hunting/Homestead Long Rifle
Description: OHIO Antique WESLEY RADER Half-Stock 38 Cal Percussion American LONG RIFLE 1850s/1860s Hunting/Homestead Long Rifle Here we present an antique Wesley Rader Half Stock Percussion Long Rifle, made circa the late-1850s to the mid-1860s. Rader is listed as an active gunmaker in Londonderry, near Chillicothe, Ohio, between 1855 and 1880.This rifle’s octagonal barrel is in .38 caliber, large enough to take small to medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. This one has a single trigger. “W.RADER” is marked a top the barrel. Rifle manufacture in the mid-to-late 19th Century was rapidly changing over from thousands of craftsmen all over the United States and on the Frontier making and selling their wares, to the large factories with standardized assembly lines and modern manufacturing techniques. Many makers’ names of the so-called Kentucky long rifles have been lost over time. The overall condition is very good. Original patina. Strong action. Nice rear peep sight. The bore is in good shape for its age. This example sports a solid stock, and it contains less than average wear. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 36 inches. Caliber: .38 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2200 #217321 Price: $2,200.00 Buy Now Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
