Description: OHIO LONG RIFLE with FALSE MUZZLE Antique .45 Caliber AMERICAN Target With WESTON & ULLERY Marked Lock Here we present an antique percussion Full-Stock Ohio Long Rifle, made circa the 1840s-50s likely in Ohio. The lock is marked Weston & Ullery. Weston & Ullery was a hardware store on the corner of Third and Broadway in Greenville, Drake County, Ohio in the mid-1800s. This rifle was built for precision shooting in mind and features a mid-to-heavy weight octagonal barrel that measures just over an inch across on the exterior barrel flats. The bore measures about .45 from land to land. The maple stock is full length with a pin fastened barrel and fantastic grain. Double set triggers. Open rifle sights—later but still old. A false muzzle is the cherry on top, a desirable feature that greatly helps to preserve the muzzle crown. The overall condition is very good. The action remains strong and crisp. The bore is in nice shape with sharp rifling. Very nice maple stock that is smooth and solid. There is a short, stable crack along the grain at the toe. A handsome target rifle that promises to be very accurate still! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 38-3/4 inches.
