Description: Kimber of Oregon Model 89 African .375 H&H Magnum. Made circa 1987, serial AF0229 is an early African model built on a true magnum-length action with integral mounts (square bridge) for Kimber rings. The barrel is 24 inches long with a banded front sight (brass-beaded blade and flip-up moon sight), banded sling swivel stud, quarter rib with express leafs (one fixed and one folding), three-position Model 70-type safety, straight bolt handle, drop box magazine (6 + 1 capacity, the extractor snapping over the last round) and a trapdoor grip cap (with extra beaded blade and Allen wrench tucked inside). STOCK: Based on a AA-grade English blank with strong, straight grain through the wrist, accents include an ebony forend tip, wrap checkering, twin crossbolts with ebony plugs, traditional (pancake) scalloped cheek rest with shadow line and a Howell-type inletted sling swivel stud on the toe line. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 9 pounds and length-of-pull is 13.75 inches. CONDITION: Likely unfired since factory proof and never taken afield. The bore is pristine. Barrel finish (rust blue) is over 99 percent with but trace indications of handling. Receiver has taken on a uniform plum. Wood (satin) is over 99 percent, with one small impression on the toe line.
