Gorgeous Mannlicher M1905 Takedown Rifle Fraser of Scotland
Description: Reduced: $4750 This is a superb Mannlicher M1905 in 9x56 caliber as converted to a takedown configuration by Daniel Fraser of Edinboro Scotland in 1910-1912 timeframe. Fraser was known for its high quality conversions and this is the only known example of a Stutzen 20 inch barrel rifle takedown conversion. It is highly unusual to find a Stutzen takedown as the rifle is already short with a 20 inch barrel in its original configuration. The conversion was accomplished by adding threads to the barrel and the receiver and having the front part of the stock held by a cross pin and removable once the cross pin is drifted out. The gun has spectacular high quality figured wood and beautiful rust blue with practically no wear. It had been scoped at one time as evidenced by 4 tapped holes on the left receiver wall that are currently filled with appropriate size screws. A side mount scope mount can be added to the rifle if desired. Bore is in excellent shape as well. This is a one of a kind takedown example from a renowned Scottish gunmaker. 3-day inspection. FFL or C&R(where legal) $75 insured shipping in CONUS Layaway available SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
