This is a Mannlicher-Schoenauer model 1903 bolt action rifle in caliber 6.5x54 Mauser. It is the takedown model. The screw in the forearm to take the rifle down is not original. It has been replaced with a hex head screw using the original threads. The rifle comes with an allen wrench to remove the screw. There are two other screws shown in a picture which can be used in place of the hex head screw if you choose. The rifle has a cheekpiece and a trapdoor in the butt. The grip cap can also be removed to carry an extra front sight. The front and rear sights are original. The rear has one standing leaf and one folding marked 300. The pistol grip and checkered wood is good and the floor plate a gray patina. All the other screws are in excellent condition. There is some blueing wear at the muzzle. The action is smooth and the trigger is crisp. The rifle has cling swivels. The bore is fair with high lands and the grooves are darker. The bluing overall is about 80-85%. Packing, insurance and shipping is $50.
