MANNLICHER SCHOENAUER MODEL 1908 8x57R MS BEN SHOSTLE ENGRAVED BOLT ACTION TAKEDOWN RIFLE
 Marvelous Ben Shostle Engraved Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1908 Bolt Action Takedown Rifle
19 3/4" barrel with bright excellent bore.  The entire action, bolt, floorplate, triggerguard, gripcap, barrel bands, and breech end of the barrels are engraved in deep relief acanthus leaf scroll with shaded background and all of the metal surfaces exhibit 98% of a dark rich blue and is signed on the left side of the front receiver ring. The pistolgrip stock rates about excellent. Checkering on the grip and forend is crisp, the forend exhibiting a full wrap-around pattern and a perfectly fitted leather covered recoil pad is present providing a length of 14 5/8".  The stock is carved with a small half grip with engraved gripcap and a right hand cheekpiece and the gun features a ramp mounted blade front sight and a two-leaf express rear sight with one standing and one folding leaf.  In addition, European style sling swivels are installed on the stock and forend.  This is a neat and handsome lightweight rifle which would make a great addition to a Mannlicher collection.
