Mannlicher–Schonauer ~1905 Takedown ~ 9x56 Mannlicher–Schonauer
Description: Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1905 Take-Down rifle chambered in 9x56mm MS. Considered to be superb rifles in their day, they maintain a substantial following in the collectible market. This Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1905 Take-Down is serial number 3709. It has an 18-inch barrel and is chambered in one of the larger MS cartridges, the 9x56mm MS round. This rifle appears to be all original. The original factory blue finish still looks great with only some light finish wear and handling marks. The bore in this rifle is bright and has strong rifling. There are no serious imperfections visible, and this rifle should shoot great. The original checkered Walnut stock is in good shape overall with some minor handling marks. The checkered panels on the forearm and pistol grip still have a lot of texture, and the wrist is crack-free. The action is very smooth and goes into battery perfectly. The safety and bolt release works perfectly, and the trigger is quite good for such a vintage rifle. The rotary magazine is in excellent shape with lots of spring pressure and is truly a work of machining art.
