#085, Marcel Thys - Liege: A Constantine V Deluxe Marcel Thys Back Action Sidelock Ejector 500 3" Nitro Express Made in 1985, It has 26 3/8" Ejector Chopper Lump barrels, Hidden third bite, Bushed strikers, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Double triggers with the front articulated, Bolstered frame, Extended top tang over the comb, Trigger guard tang to a trapdoor grip cap, A very nice piece of European walnut with excellent color and contrast, Shadowline cheekpiece, A very slight beavertail forend with an Anson release, No sling eyes, 14 5/8" LOP over a 1" leather pad, 11 lbs. 5 oz., 96% coverage of very accurate H&H Royal style floral engraving with an Elephant on the bottom, The frame retains 96% original finish, The barrels retain 95% of the original blue, The original stock finish is at 96-97% with a few handling marks, The checkering is at 99%, The bore condition is excellent. The whole is cased in a brass cornered Oak & Leather trunk by Prest with the maker's trade label. This piece has proven its mettle in Africa and is ready to go back.
