Marlin, 1895 takedown rifle, 45/90
Description: Listing a very rare antique 1895 Marlin takedown rifle in the scarce ( big dog ) 45/90 caliber, serial numbers I've read started at 131+++, this one 137956 puts it at 1896 Mfg. 18 k total built and very few in 45/90 I've read 1006 and of that number 468 in takedown. This one has like a 4X tiger stripe walnut stock and forearm. She takes apart fine, although some previous owner seemed to think he needed a steel hammer to unlock the locking mechanism. What can I say , worse things have happened. Has the long Ballard style rear semi buckhorn sight and Rocky Mountain style front blade. Original I'm thinking .She shoots great, both 45/90 and 45/70 cartridges. Has the standard 26" octagon barrel, crescent butt plate. Numbers match as photos show. The 1895's were produced up until 1917, you younger fellas don't become confused with all the 1895's produced in the last twenty years or so, this is the real deal.they quit production I've read as Marlin started producing machine guns for our govt during the First World War then the drop off of interest in the big levers due to all the bolt actions coming of age. Well enough history and hopefully not B.S. If interested please call or text 920-590-3400, I accept cashiers check, postal money orders, and ship through USPS, I'm a Collector not a dealer and I will need a FFL or your C&R to ship to. Guidelines of the USPS, enjoy your day SOLD Antique: Yes Rifle Caliber: .45-90 Winchester Manufacturer: Marlin Model: 1895 TD rifle Serial Number: 137956 Condition: Very good Metal Condition: Good Wood Condition: Good Bore Condition: Excellent Barrel Type: Octagon Action: Lever Triggers: Single Stock: fancy walnut Butt Pad: Crescent Finish: original Sights: open rear Manufacture Date: 1896 Extras: Fancy walnut |
