Marlin Firearms Co. ~ Model 1893 ~ .32-40 Winchester ~ Around 1901 Production
Description: Marlin Model 1893 lever action rifle with a full-length tubular magazine and a 25" Octagon barrel. The top of the barrel is marked "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893." and "32-40" at the receiver. The left side of the barrel is marked "Special Smokeless Steel". The top of the receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY". The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number "226221". The front sight is a gold blade slotted to a base that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a V-notch elevator sight that is dovetailed to the barrel. The upper tang has two tapped, and filled holes for mounting a tang sight.The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a crescent steel buttplate. The exterior of this gun is in good serviceable condition. .32-40 Winchester SOLD Antique: Yes Chambers: Lever action. Metal Condition: 15% finish remaining. No major rust pitting on the exterior surface. Most of the screw head slots are distorted. Wood Condition: "Fair stocks with dings, dents and scratches that you would expect from a gun this age. The stocks are not split. Bore Condition: Fair condition with a corroded but slightly reflective bore. Rifling is stall well-defined. Barrels: 25" barrel. Triggers: Single trigger.
