Marlin Model 1881 Third model 40-60 Caliber

Description:
A very nice first lever action Marlin 1881 rifle. This is the third style and these guns and they were made c1881-1892. The four digit serial number would make this on of the early 3rd model guns. Slightly over 20,000 of these guns were made. The wood is very good with no cracks and a minimum os scratches and dings. It has a 28 inch octagon barrel and weighs 9 pounds 13 ounces. A good amount of original finsh is present on the metal and wood. Over all a very nice firearm.
This is an antique, so no paperwork is required.
