Description: Guns Listing ID: 600878 This 1971 Glenfield-branded Marlin Model 60 is a pre-1983 configuration with a 22 inch Micro-Groove steel barrel and a 18+1 tubular magazine. It features a birch hardwood stock with the Glenfield squirrel motif, an aluminum alloy receiver with 3/8 inch dovetail grooves for optics, and factory open sights. Made in North Haven, Connecticut, it measures approximately 40.5 inches overall and weighs about 5.5 pounds. Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling. (See Pictures) Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks. Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves. Firearm does not come with a rifle case. Marlin Glenfield Model 60 semi-automatic rifle (.22 LR) The pre-1983 configuration stands out with its 22 inch barrel and 17+1 capacity tubular magazine. The barrel uses Marlin Micro-Groove rifling with a 1:16 right-hand twist, optimized for .22 LR. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a black anodized finish and includes 3/8 inch rimfire dovetail grooves for mounting optics. Operation is semi-automatic blowback with a right-side, curved, serrated charging handle and a cross-bolt safety. The barrel and other steel components wear a blued finish. The stock is hardwood (birch) with a satin lacquer finish. It includes pressed checkering on the forend and pistol grip, a straight comb, the Glenfield squirrel motif, and a black composite butt-plate. Length of pull is 13.75 inches. Sights are open: a ramped front post with protective side ears (hood absent) and an elevator-adjustable rear open leaf with a serrated blade. The receiver grooves allow easy addition of a rimfire scope if desired.
