MARLIN TAKEDOWN MODEL 1893, 30-30 made in 1903, BEAUTIFUL
Description: Beautiful Marlin model 1893 Takedown in 30-30 Chambering. This is in really good condition, especially when you consider its age. It was made in 1903 when Teddy Roosevelt was President. Because it is chambered in the ever popular 30-30 the bore looks amazing with strong rifling (see photos). The wood is beautiful and shows evidence of an older refinish. The receiver, Buttplate and Forend cap are Nickel plated. I don't know if this is Factory or later. I know that they made some special order rifles that were done this way. It is a takedown model and shows no play when assembled. The action is smooth and locks up properly. The finish on the barrel is beginning to show some light browning through the Blue, but looks appropriate and gives the rifle character. There is evidence of case colors in protected areas. It has the original factory iron sights. Shouldering this rifle gives me the feeling that it was expertly made by craftsmen whose excellent work has survived its creators. It is a special thing to hold a rifle like this and think of days gone by, when the world was an entirely different place. Please view the photos carefully and read the description.
