Marlin Model 39A 22 cal rimfire rifle Made 1948 pre-Golden vintage
Description: Good Marlin Model 39-A 22 caliber rifle made in 1948, blued and walnut finish, pre-gold trigger era so trigger is blued as well, Marlin logo plastic butt plate, full mag tube with loading liner, 24" barrel, take down frame, Marlin Bullseye is missing. Shoots short, long and long rifle 22 rimfire ammo. Stocks show scratches and marks from prior use but remain very good with no splits or cracks. Bluing for the most part is excellent with a slight amount of thinning occurring on the barrel and mag tube. Bore is mint and action is smooth/strong with a properly working half cock safety. Lever is a little droopy but doesn't affect function. Receiver factory drilled and tapped for various side peep and scope mounts. Original front and rear open sights are intact but front sight hood is missing. Barrel is not marked "Micro-Groove" so this one has the cut Ballard-type rifling. Please have a gunsmith check it over before firing. TERMS: Shipping to the Continental US States will be a flat $40 with insurance optional and additional if requested.
