Marlin Model 1893 Rifle in .32-40, made circa 1896 in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin Firearms was founded in the 1870s by John Marlin and was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. Marlin produced a large assortment of firearms such as lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns and single shotrifles. The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. The overall condition is very good. Original finish and patina. The action is excellent. The bore is in great shape with sharp rifling. The walnut stock is solid. The front sight has been replaced. The .32-40 cartridge is still known today as a very accurate one! Own the original!
