c.1894 mfr. Antique J.M. MARLIN Model 1893 Lever Action Rifle .38-40 WCF
With Octagonal Barrel & Crescent Butt Plate!
Description: c.1894 mfr. Antique J.M. MARLIN Model 1893 Lever Action Rifle .38-40 WCF With Octagonal Barrel & Crescent Butt Plate! Here we present an antique J.M. Marlin Model 1893 Lever Action Rifle in .38-40 Winchester, made circa 1894 in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. Marlin produced a large assortment of firearms such as lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns and single shot rifles. The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. The barrel is a medium weight octagonal of 28 inches, chambered for the rifle/pistol cartridge .38-40 caliber. This rifle was one of the most popular Marlin lever-action models ever made with over one million model 1893s manufactured. The overall condition is good+. Original blue finish/patina. The action is excellent. The bore is fair—still shootable and with good rifling but lightly textured throughout the grooves from black powder use. The initials “GWH” are carved into the right side of the stock just beneath the nose of the comb. The stock is solid and in nice shape. A very handsome antique Marlin rifle that would pair well with a Colt SAA! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: .38-40 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1815 #215463 SOLD Antique: Yes |
