First Year Production MARLIN M1936 Lever Action .32 SPECIAL C&R Carbine
Predecessor to the MARLIN MODEL 336
Description: First Year Production MARLIN M1936 Lever Action .32 SPECIAL C&R Carbine Predecessor to the MARLIN MODEL 336 Here we present a C&R J.M. Marlin Model 1936 Rifle in .32 Winchester Special, made circa 1936 in New Haven, Connecticut with a production run between 1936 and 1948. Marlin was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. This very nice lever-action model is a direct descendant of the Model 1893. It was chambered in either .30-30 or.32 Special cartridge, as is this one. The stock was streamlined with a pistol-grip and a 20" barrel on the carbines and a 24” barrel on the rifles. It sports a 7-shot tube magazine and semi-beavertail forearm. The receiver, lever and hammer are all case colored, with the rest being blued. During the first four years of the Model 1936, the guns were identical in every aspect. Although, in 1937, in the catalog only, the nomenclature was changed to the Model 36, but no changes were made internally or cosmetically, until 1941 when the “B” prefix gun was made, with most of the changes being cosmetics. This was also the last year of the case-hardened receiver. The Model 36 continued until June of 1948 when the model was changed to the still popular Model 336. The overall condition is good. Some original blue with a mostly brown patina throughout. The action is strong. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. The front and rear sights have been replaced. Aside from a small chip to the top right corner of the wrist, the stock is solid. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 20 inches. Caliber: .32 Special (Winchester Special; W.S.) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R Licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2000 #240178 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
