Marlin M-94 .44-40 rifle, c.1920s

Description:
OUTSTANDING M-94 .44-40 ROUND BARREL RIFLE WITH MINT BORE, serial number is a non-letter prefix 5XXX, has the five point star on the upper tang that according to the Marlin book by Brophy: ...when a Marlin gun leaves the factory bearing the Marlin star stamped into the metal, it is "as near perfection as the finest of materials, equipment and skill can make it." This one has the late "Bullseye" inlay in the bottom of the stock that was introduced in 1922, so this was probably an early 1920s manufacture rifle, exc. deep barrel and mag blue with only a couple tiny spots of age/brown, exc. blue on the bolt and loading gate, butt plate also shows exc. blue in the middle section with wear to the top and bottom areas, exc. vivid case color on the left side of the receiver and the top, right side a little more faded, but still fine color, exc. wood, light case colors on lever mixing silvery, original Rocky Mt. blade front sight with semi-buckhorn rear, exc. screws, tight wood to metal fit, a really super investment quality Marlin in a great caliber.
