I'm listing a rather rare Marlin rifle, the model 1888 top eject , around 4,800 were built between 1888-1892, the number in 32/20 were the least about 1298. This is a first year rifle .It was Marlin's answer to the Winchester 73 , a rifle in the pistol calibers. But I guess because of patent rights Marlin went to the model 1889 side eject and continued to build them all side ejecting . This particle rife has been used but still is very tight and loads and shoots just fine. Having a 24" octagon barrel with Marlin equipped open rear and front blade sights it's a brown patina through out. Wood being a darker tone but no serious cracks or chips missing. I took as many pictures to try and show the overall condition , although no high condition rifle it is a rather rare bird . Bore is surprisingly pretty decent for a black powder era rifle. I'd ship to the lower 48 for $45. Insured, you'd have three days to check her out, no dismantling or firing, please ! return at your expense for a full refund if it's not as I've described.
