Description: MODEL '93 "SPORTING CARBINE" .30-30, #L5XX, MADE 1930s. Sporting carbines of this time period had steel "S" butt plates and 2/3 magazines that held 5 rounds. The earlier versions from the 1920s had hard rubber shotgun butt plates. The matching number is stamped inside the butt plate. As these were made during the Great Depression, production was limited and these don'e show up too often. This example has a mostly gray receiver with only light mottling from the faded case colors. Good blue on the loading gate, 20" barrel and mag blue is thinned and mixing gray/brown with more blue on the mag tube. All markings are sharp and clear. Buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact (correct for this model) and blade/bead front sight. Fine stock and forearm, tight action, strong safety half-cock, exc. bore.
