Marlin 30AS, 30-30, 20\" barrel.

According to the serial number, this rifle appears to have been manufactured in 1984 by the original Marlin company. The barrel is \"JM\" stamped.

This is a really nice lever action, comparable to the more common 336. Originally intended to be the price point alternative to the 336, eventually Marlin decided to expand the 336 line to include a price point version of it that catered to box stores. This move essentially caused the discontinuation of 30AS. The 30As features Marlin‚s MicroGroove rifling and shares the same mechanical action as the 336.

Overall this rifle is in great condition for its age but it does show some wear and has a few blemishes and small spots of surface rust. The bore and rifling are in great condition, shiny and bright.

If you‚re looking for a nice lever action, made by the original Marlin company, look no further. These are gradually becoming collectable due to the acquisitions of Marlin over recent years and decling availabilityof the less common Marlin models of the past. It comes as pictured with the scope base and hammer extension installed. Those can easily be removed if desired to bring it to full factory condition.
