Description: OVERVIEW General Specs: Marlin, Year 1949, .32WS, 6lbs. 15oz., LOP 13 3/8" Serial Number: F21837 When Marlin first introduced the Model 336 in 1948, the company made three versions: The Model 336A, which was a rifle with a 24″ barrel, the Model 336RC, which was a carbine with a 20″ barrel and a full-length magazine tube, and the Model 336SC with a 20″ barrel and half magazine tube. Most of the rifles made were with the full-length magazine which makes this Marlin S.C. serial number F21837 manufactured in 1949 a less common configuration. This example exhibits 99% bluing on the barrel and a mirror bore. The gun has a few handling marks but for a gun 74 years old is in excellent condition. Famously side loading and side ejecting these rifles are easily tapped for optics, no offset scope mounts that the Winchester 94 must accommodate! A classic in all respects. Rare caliber for Marlin.
