Completly original early production 336 SC (Sporting Carbine) chambered in very capable 35 Remington. A potent little woods carbine; overall length only about 38" with factory 18" barrel. Although considered to be in the 30 30 class the 35 is far more effective on game up to Moose. This gun despite it being 74 yrs old has hardly a mark on it with only slight evidence of carry wear ....inclredibly the marlin bullsey is still in place ! Now known as the waffle top; referring to the early production guns prior to approx 1955 when they were drilled and tapped at the factory this one was not and is unmodified. A correct lyman receiver site was added in factory holes: the insert was lost sometime along the years however these are commonly available...i believe the site is a Lyman 66 made 30 mins from our location as was the rifle about 45 mins from our door. The blank or site part for the Lyman are found on ebay and other places for not much (at the time of this listing one was listed for $ 32.00)

Completly original early production 336 SC (Sporting Carbine) chambered in very capable 35 Remington. A potent little woods carbine; overall length only about 38" with factory 18" barrel. Although considered to be in the 30 30 class the 35 is far more effective on game up to Moose. This gun despite it being 74 yrs old has hardly a mark on it with only slight evidence of carry wear ....inclredibly the marlin bullsey is still in place ! Now known as the waffle top; referring to the early production guns prior to approx 1955 when they were drilled and tapped at the factory this one was not and is unmodified. A correct lyman receiver site was added in factory holes: the insert was lost sometime along the years however these are commonly available...i believe the site is a Lyman 66 made 30 mins from our location as was the rifle about 45 mins from our door. The blank or site part for the Lyman are found on ebay and other places for not much (at the time of this listing one was listed for $ 32.00)
