Marlin 336 Special Order Deluxe Texan .44 Magnum Saddle Ring Carbine 20" with Straight Stock and Figured Walnut From 1965
Description: This is a Special Order Marlin Model 336 Texan SRC from early production back in 1965. Beautiful original blue and varnish. It has the straight grip stock which defines the Texan variation and .44 Magnum is scarce. Has the correct 20" barrel with factory brass saddle ring and JM proofed of course. The Marlin logo recoil pad is a very scarce factory option. Shown to be factory because the polishing marks on the walnut stock continue across the black and white spacers all the way to the pad. Also there are no mounting screw holes on the rear face of the pad. Only Marlin factory mounted them this way. It also has very lovely and special order figured with fiddle back walnut on both the butt stock and forearm. The front sight is original and this model did not come with a sight hood (No grooves for a hood on the ramp). The rear barrel sight is upgraded to a Lyman white diamond folding style for clearance for a previous scope mount. The top of the receiver has some old hard dried oil still on it as shown. Mounting holes with filler screws are factory. Bore is mirror bright with deep rifling. The action is smooth and tight. It is little fired. The 336 Texan .44 Magnum was only made for a few years in the 1960's. To find a deluxe special order gun like this one is next to impossible. I am Oregon Lumberjack on the other big site with 1000's of positive feedbacks. I am a FFL dealer in Connecticut for near 40 years. Shipping is $65 to your dealer. Guaranteed to make you very happy.
