RARE, VIVID CASE COLOR MARLIN MODEL 1936, .32 SPECIAL, #B9XXX, ONLY MADE 1936-1937. The Model 1936 was an upgraded version of the Model 1893/M-93. This is from Brophy’s Marlin book: “Production of the Model 1936 was started late in1936 for the 1937 market. The 1936 model designation was used into 1937, when it was changed to Model 36.” Being introduced in the Great Depression 1930s, production and demand was limited. The Model 36 continued on from 1938-1947 when the revamped Model 336 replaced it. The Model 1936 and Model 36 are not often encountered now with the single year Model 1936 rare. All Model 1936s and early Model 36s had case colored receivers with the late M-36s having blued receivers. This Model 1936 is an excellent example with vivid case color remaining on the sides and top of the receiver with only dulling on the bottom portions. Exc. blue on the 24” barrel and magazine. Excellent stock and forend show minimal handling with one “impressed” light scratch on the right side of the stock- minor. Tight action, strong safety half-cock and bright, minty sharp bore. Buckhorn rear sight with ramped front sight. Stunning example of a one-year production Marlin.
