Description: SCARCE J.M. MARLIN 1894CB COWBOY LIMITED .44 MAG, 24” OCT. #00120XXX, MADE 2000. This one has the traditional Marlin diamond pattern checkering on the wrist and forearm with a little nicer grade of walnut than usually seen. It is also fitted with a Skinner receiver sight mounted correctly in the factory drilled and tapped holes in the top of the receiver. It is mated with a blade/bead front sight with the rear barrel sight removed. Barrel is marked for .44 mag or .44 Special. Has the desirable Ballard rifling that works well with jacketed or cast lead bullets. Overall in near new condition with only a few of the most minor handling marks in the stock that you have to look carefully to see. Fitted with a barrel band sling swivel stud with corresponding one in the butt stock. Original butt plate. These were fairly limited production “real” Marlins before Marlin was sold to Remington and later to Ruger. Doesn’t appear that Ruger is making these traditional octagon barrel rifles like those made at the original Marlin Co. in North Haven, CT factory. The Skinner sights are a real plus and make accurate sighting easy. These are great shooters and rapidly gaining collector status. $1595.
