FULLY RESTORED MARLIN MODEL 1897 .22, WITH 24" OCTAGON BARREL
Description:
Offering this fully restored Marlin model 1897 .22 rimfire take-down lever rifle. Very similar model to the early Marlin 39. 24" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. 5 lbs, 12 ozs. Dark bore with rifling visible from the muzzle. Test fired for function, which is flawless, and it shot to point of aim at about 20 yards. This 1897 was just fully and correctly restored with bone charcoal case colors on frame, lever and hammer, hot blued furniture, rust blued barrel and magazine tube, and hand rubbed oil finish on the stocks. Action is smooth and tight like new and needs to be "shot-in" to loosen it back up. Original buttplate shows its age but is intact. Made about 1905. These early Marlins are to be shot with standard, and not high speed ammunition. I will let the photos tell the rest of the story. 3 day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection runs from receipt by FFL/C&R holder. Insured USPS Priority mail shipping to lower 48 is $60. Here is an opportunity to own a newish looking classic Marlin 1897 for a fraction of the cost of a mint specimen, if you can find one. Feel free to ask any questions, and check out our other listings of restored vintage sporting guns.
