Marlin Golden 39-A Mountie .22 S/L/LR – 90th ANNIVERSARY, 1 of 500, 99%, vintage firearms
Description: General Specs: Marlin, 1960, .22 Short/Long/Long Rifle, 6lbs. 1oz. LOP 13 7/16" Serial Number: T11559 Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this Marlin Model 39A, the oldest continuously produced firearm in the world. Annie Oakley of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West attraction reportedly used a marlin 1891 to put 25 shots through a jagged hole 36 feet away within the span of 27 seconds. Beginning as the Marlin Model 1891, this design was refined over the following decade, and was ultimately finalized into the Marlin 39A, was the first lever-action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Production of the original design continued with few alterations until 1983, when it was updated and reintroduced as the Golden 39-A. Despite these updates, the rifle remains fundamentally true to the original design with the addition of Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling, which greatly improves accuracy. Widely regarded as one of the finest .22 caliber lever-action rifles ever produced being one of only a handful .22 rifles that can be easily taken down. This example, serial number T11559, produced 1960, is a limited 90th anniversary production, only 500 were ever made, this one being number 118. These Mounties feature a chrome plated finish on the barrel, mag tube, hammer, lever, and receiver. Furthermore, they come fitted with highly figured feather crotch furniture with hand carved motif on the stock. This rifle is in superb condition, retaining 99% factory chrome finish on the receiver and lever. The 20” barrel retains 99% factory chrome finish, has a mirror 10/10 bore, and is very likely unfired. This shiny 1 of 500 Marlin would make an excellent centerpiece to your lever gun collection.
