Description: On consignment we have a Marlin model 1897 lever action rifle in .22 LR. This rifle is of the first type production with round top receiver marked 'Marlin Safety, and hyphenated "Fire-Arms" barrel mark. Gun features a walnut stock and forend with black rubber buttplate, case colored takedown receiver, and 24" octagon barrel with blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Gun is in very good mechanical condition with a clean bore. There are traces of case-coloring in protected areas of receiver. Bluing on barrel is mostly faded to brown patina with some spots of original bluing showing. Stock has been revarnished. Serial number is 259369, dated to 1902. Yes, we will accept firearms on trade.
