Marlin Model 39A Early Production 1947
Description: Sale pending Greg in KY******* Early Marlin Model 39A with all the correct early features: 24" round barrel with Ballard rifling, full magazine with earlier steel inner loading tube, blued finish, plain walnut stocks, plain pistol grip, no grip cap, serrtated hard rubber butt plate, trademark “Bullseye” in toe line of butt stock, take down frame, open sights. Capacities are 25 short, 20 long or 18 long rifle .22 rimfire cartridges. Overall length 41" with 6.5-pound weight. "D" prefix indicates 1947 production. CONDITION: All blued surfaces retain 80% original blue with some light spots of wear and spotting from hunting/target use. Original open sights are intact but the front sight hood is missing. The trademark “Bullseye” remains in the toe line of the butt stock. Except for a small piece missing from the upper left corner by the receiver, the stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished, still tight and proud, exhibiting some light usage dings and scuffs/scratches. Smooth action with properly working half cock safety. Near mint, bright, shiny bore, a 9.75 of 10. Take down is tight with no wobble. Loading tube works smoothly and locks in tightly. Receiver is properly factory drilled and tapped for peep sight as well as scope mount. Will be a collector's prize as well as a fun hunter/shooter.
