The Model 60 features Marlin's signature Micro-Groove rifling – instead of a few deep grooves, the barrel features many shallow channels that grip soft lead .22 bullets gently without deforming them, resulting in high out-of-the-box accuracy. It has a 14-round tubular magazine under the barrel, an adjustable open rear sight, a ramp front sight, and a grooved receiver for scope mounts. The last-shot bolt hold-open locks the bolt back automatically after the final round is fired.
This rifle comes with a BSA R 4x-15 scope mounted on the receiver. The rings can be seen through to allow for the use of the original sights – a versatile setup for both precision and fast acquisition.
