SUPER RARE Marlin Golden 39-A-DL Deluxe "Squirrel Gun" Made 1961 FREE SHIPPING
Description: WOW WHAT A FIND! This is a Marlin Model Golden 39-A-DL Deluxe 22 caliber rifle, firing 22 short, long and long rifle rimfire ammunition. This deluxe version was only made for 3 years, from 1961 to 1963, and this one has a serial number of U1214, making it a FIRST YEAR firearm! These have been dubbed the "squirrel gun" by collectors due to the factory carving of the squirrel in the right side of the butt stock. Besides that, this rifle features deluxe fancy checkered walnut, 24" round barrel, full tubular magazine, pistol grip, shot gun butt with Marlin logo hard plastic butt plate with white line spacer, pistol grip cap with white line spacer, gold trigger, "JM" marked barrel, receiver factory drilled and tapped for various receiver sights/scope, blued finish, take down frame, ramped front sight and open rear sight, factory sling swivels, and the famous Marlin Bullseye in the toe line of the butt stock. CONDITION: Barrel and mag tube exhibit 85% original blue with some thinning starting as well as a few spots of very minor surface oxidation. Front sight ramp is missing the hood; correct rear sight intact. Removal mag tube for loading is present and locks up tightly. Receiver exhibits 95% original bright blue and trigger has 95% of the gold. Take down feature is tight with no wobble and functions as it should. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth with a properly working half cock safety. Deluxe stocks are in excellent condition, showing light use marks, sharp untouched checkering, beautiful deluxe grain and color. Fore arm has a very small tight chip at left front by fore end cap with the original piece still there and not repaired; I have chosen to leave it alone as it doesn't look or feel loose. Factory sling swivels are intact. Overall grades NRA Modern Fine. This is one heckuva rifle and a version very seldom seen so don't let it slip away!!
