Antique Marlin 1895 Lever Action Rifle in 45-90

Description: Antique Marlin 1895 Lever Action Rifle in 45-90 This is a Marlin 1895 is an early (1896) antique Marlin 1895 rifle in 45-90. It has a full 26" octagon barrel, Buckhorn barrel sight and blade front sight, full tube magazine crescent butt plate. It has standard walnut stocks. Condition: The overall condition of this Marlin 1895 rifle is very good to fine. The receiver has which was originally color cased has faded to silver/light gray patina and some spot staining. The barrel and magazine tube have about some original blue turning to a plum patina. The legends are good and strong with the tang marked MODEL 1895. The top of frame is marked MARLIN SAFETY with the Marlin Address on the top of barrel with the caliber is marked 45-90 which had slightly faded. The screws are mostly good with a few showing some turn wear. The wood is in very good condition with a slight chip at the top tang and with some nicks and bumps from use. The wood to metal fit is good with the wood being about even with the metal overall. The bore in fine condition exhibiting some frosting and slight pitting but with strong rifling throughout. I have put around 50 rounds through this rifle both black powder and smokeless and it cycles, ejects, and locks up strong. I only shot it out to around 80 yards but it was accurate. This is a nice example antique Marlin 1895 in 45-90 made in 1896 that is very rare, in desirable configuration, and at a good price. Being an antique it can ship directly to the buyer.
