Circa 1906 mfr J.M. MARLIN Model 1893 Lever Action .32-40 Rifle C&R Ballard “FOR BLACK POWDER”
Description: Circa 1906 mfr J.M. MARLIN Model 1893 Lever Action .32-40 Rifle C&R Ballard “FOR BLACK POWDER” Here we present a J.M. Marlin Model 1893 Rifle in .32-40, made in 1906 in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin Firearms was founded in the 1870s by John Marlin and was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. Marlin produced a large assortment of firearms such as lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns and single shot rifles. The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. However, some folks still liked the old black powder cartridges, so Marlin still made rifles for a time that suited their customers’ wants. This resulted in some of their production being marked “FOR BLACK POWDER”. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. The barrel is a medium weight part octagon of 26 inches, chambered for the rifle/pistol cartridge .32-40 Winchester Center Fire. This rifle was one of the most popular Marlin lever-action models ever made with over one million model 1893s manufactured. This one is in great shape and remains a classic! The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Excellent action. Bright, sharply rifled bore. The walnut stock is solid. The tang features mounting holes for a peep sight and they are currently filled. A really sharp Marlin for the collection! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 26 inches. Caliber: .32-40 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2265 #215015 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
