CUSTOMIZED MARLIN MODEL 62 "LEVERMATIC" .256 WIN. MAG. CALIBER, MADE PRE-68.

CUSTOMIZED MODEL 62 "LEVERMATIC" .256 WIN. MAG. CALIBER, MADE PRE-68. Only made from 1963-1969 this is a fairly difficult model to find. They were originally offered in .256 Win. only with the .30 Carbine caliber added later. Only 5900 were made in .256 with the first 4000 made before 1968 and have no serial number. This is one of those. It appears to be a "Type 2" made with swivels and a slightly different style stock. This example has had the barrel cut to 18" with no provision for a front sight (all are drilled and tapped for scope mounting), jeweled bolt and recoil pad added. Now it is kind of a cool looking little carbine! All in fine condition inside and out. Should be a fun shooter. The .256 is easily made by necking down .357 mag. brass. I've done it by going slowly without forming dies (which are available). $695.
